payever Brings Its Full Commerce Platform to Switzerland, Completing Coverage Across DACH

payever partners with MF Group AG (PowerPay), Verifone and TWINT to give Swiss and DACH merchants pay later, card acquiring and Switzerland's default payment method — all with no gateway fees and no transaction fees on payever's side.

HAMBURG, Germany — August 26, 2026

payever today announced the expansion of its full commerce and payments platform into Switzerland, extending a footprint that has, over several years, been carefully built out across Germany and Austria. The move brings all three DACH markets onto a single platform for the first time, and gives every existing German and Austrian merchant on payever the ability to extend their setup cross-border into Switzerland in just a few clicks.

"Switzerland has been the missing piece of DACH for us," said a payever spokesperson. "Merchants have been asking for it, and Swiss consumers already have very clear expectations about how they want to pay. Today we meet both."

At the center of the announcement is payever's two-sided model: payment products built together with leading financial institutions, distributed through one platform, with no gateway fees and no transaction fees on payever's side. The commercial relationships live with the partner institutions — which means Swiss and DACH merchants get enterprise-grade rates without the markup typically layered on by a traditional PSP.

Connect once, work from anywhere

Buy now, pay later has become a basket-size driver across European retail, and Switzerland is no exception. To bring this to market properly, payever partnered with MF Group AG, the country's leading pay-later provider and the company behind the widely recognized PowerPay brand.

Through payever, merchants can now offer:

Pay on Invoice — a single bill, or a consolidated monthly statement, for the customer to settle later.

Revolving Credit — flexible, partial payments drawn against the customer's credit account.

0% Financing — interest-free installment plans, long proven in Swiss retail to increase average order value.

Merchants already selling into Switzerland from Germany or Austria don't need a new integration. The PowerPay products are available through any of payever's shop system plugins, or directly via the payments API — activated in minutes, not months.

One Acquiring Relationship, Three Markets

For card payments — Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, both online and at the point of sale — payever is extending its strategic partnership with Verifone into Switzerland. It's a deliberate choice: rather than stitching together separate acquiring relationships per country, DACH merchants now run on one acquiring relationship across all three markets, with consolidated reporting, reconciliation, and terminal management in a single place.

TWINT: Not Optional, the Standard

No Swiss payments launch is complete without TWINT — and payever's is no exception. Since its 2016 launch, TWINT has grown from a domestic experiment into the default way Switzerland pays.

Owned by a consortium that includes UBS, PostFinance, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank, BCV, SIX and Worldline, TWINT today reaches more than 6 million users — roughly two out of every three people in the country — with 99% brand awareness among Swiss residents aged 16 and older. In 2025 alone, TWINT processed 901 million transactions, up 17% year-over-year, and is now accepted by around 81% of physical shops and 84% of online shops nationwide.

For merchants entering the Swiss market for the first time, TWINT isn't a nice-to-have. It's table stakes — and it's built into payever from day one.

PayPal, for Everything Cross-Border

Rounding out the Swiss launch is PayPal, which remains the connective tissue for DACH commerce that crosses borders. German and Austrian merchants selling into Switzerland, and Swiss merchants selling into Germany and Austria, both rely on it — and around one in five Swiss online shoppers still prefer to check out with PayPal.

Full DACH, One Platform

Taken together, the launch gives merchants full DACH coverage — Germany, Austria and Switzerland — with consistent integration, consistent support, and consistent reporting, regardless of which market a sale originates in.

"We didn't want to build a separate 'Swiss version' of payever," the spokesperson added. "We wanted the same platform, the same pricing philosophy, and the same partner-led model to simply work in a third country. That's what launches today."

Availability

The Switzerland expansion is available now to new and existing payever merchants. Existing German and Austrian merchants can activate PowerPay, Verifone card acquiring, TWINT and PayPal for Switzerland directly from their payever dashboard, through supported shop system plugins, or via the payments API.
